Battery Storage

BatteryMost of us don't think about our battery when we put the bike up in storage. It's important to remember a few key things that will help to save some time and money when you get the bike back out.

1 - Remove the battery from the motorcycle. This is help to prevent any discharge from any accessories you've wired in like LED lights, alarms or other performance electronics that may accidentally be turned on.

2 - Move the battery to a location that will be free from moisture. You don't really just want it on the garage floor. Put it up on a shelf to help prevent any corrosion

3 - Recharge the battery at least once a month, or use a trickle charger like a Battery Tender. An unused battery will discharge quick than one used regularly. Be sure to monitor the battery voltage even when using an automatic charger. Overcharging can reduce the lifespan of the battery and in some cases a fire.
