Suzuki Hayabusa Turbo Engine Upgrade List

We receive numerous calls each week, inquiring about the essential engine components required for turbocharging the Suzuki Hayabusa engine. While the specifics vary for each project, we've compiled a comprehensive list of top-quality products, all available at Schnitz Racing, to meet your turbo build needs.

The stock Suzuki Hayabusa engine is turbocharger-compatible, with the level of boost it can handle depending on factors like engine generation, mileage, and wear. Here's a general overview:

  • Hayabusa 99-07 (Gen 1): Maximum 6psi, with weak spots identified in piston and valve springs.
  • Hayabusa 08-20 (Gen 2): Maximum 4psi, with weak spots in pistons and valve springs.
  • Hayabusa 2022 (Gen 3): Maximum 4psi, with weak spots in pistons and valve springs.

Stage 1 (up to 350hp) Engine Build List:

  7. Cylinder Head Nut Washers: Used in the absence of removable cylinder bolt washers in the 08+ Hayabusa engine.

  8. Stainless Steel Exhaust Valves: Gen 2/3 Hayabusa use Titanium Exhaust Valves.  These wear quickly with the increase exhaust gas temperatures.

  9. Turbo Piston Kit: 81-83mm max bore recommended. Larger sizes reduce head gasket material between cylinders.
    CP Pistons
    JE Pistons
    Wiseco Pistons
    Wossner Pistons

  10. Cylinder Block: The stock 81mm bore block may be ok to reuse or to have bored. But, we have brand now blocks ready to bolt on with no need for shipping or replating.

  11. Heavy Duty Connecting Rods: Stock rods and bolts are going to fail above 350hp. Not if, but when.
    Carrillo Con Rods
    Wossner Con Rods

  12. Main Bearings: Best to replace these with fresh bearings.

  13. Rod Bearings: You’ll need to measure your crankshaft and HD rods to determine the size/color before ordering.

  14. Main Bearing Studs: Replaces the main bearing bolts with HD studs and nuts to keep the engine sealed.

  15. Base Gasket: Cometic .010" Steel Base Gasket - Placed on top of the base spacer to seal spacer to bottom of cylinder.

  16. Head Gasket: High-quality Cometic MLS head gasket.

  17. Engine Case Gasket Set: Covers all engine covers that need removal.

  18. Exhaust Gaskets: Ensures a tight seal for the manifold.
