Product Description
The KLX Needle is an adjustable needle that works well with the KLR650.
- Fits ALL KLR's from 1987 to 2020. Including the "Tengai"
This needle is richer than a "DYNO-JET" needle, and much richer than the stock KLR's. If used with a stock or lightly modified KLR, it will need a smaller main jet. A completely stock KLR may need a main jet in the #135/145 range. 148 = stock.
This (KLR-KLX) assembly consists of three parts.
16009-1794 - NT1B Needle
92143-1667 - Spacer (used above the circlip)

Klx needle for KLR650
Quality product, installed with a couple of other minor mods and the bike runs smoother, cooler, and definitely feel the power difference in the seat of the pants dyno. Would buy again if ever needed.

Better than other needles
Just a thank you for a great product. The common DRZ400 carb mod is either an FCR39 or the KLR's CVK40. Chose the CVK due to cost and ThumperTalk posts. https://thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/277054-new-cvk40-convert/#comment-2341690. Your KLR650 needle was recommended from an engine builder friend. Could not have been more spot on. Better power, fair MPG and responds very well to cams and exhaust. Again, thanks for an excellent product.

Fixed my KLR650 surging issues
I have been trying to resolve a surging problem that was driving me mad with my pre-owned 2008 KLR650. The needle with a 145 main jet and a 1-3/4 turn of the idle screw seemed to fix my problem, as well as giving me a quicker response time and more power.

KLX Needle
Great delivery of fuel.

Brilliant design
Got the needle to replace a bent KLX needle used in my KLR 650. The tapered shaft seems much beefier and the adjust-ability is spectacular. I really am impressed with both the needle and the instructions for setting the c-clip. they were concise but easy to follow and provided very good starting points for different sized jets and the many setups people have on their bikes.

Vast improvement
Fast shipping and great customer service was an impressive start to my buying experience. The included detailed instructions and tips made the process of rejetting, clip position and air screw adjustment simple. The entire job from start to road test was just under an hour. The results were a smoother power transition without flat spots ,surges and popping on decell. My bike simply runs like it should now with better power and smooth throttle application. I am very very please with my experience with Schnitz Racing I will definitely be doing future business with them. Thank you !!

Excellent upgrade for the KLR
After reading many forums about this upgrade I decided to pull the trigger. I purchased additional jets, and also a thumb adjustable low speed idle jet replacement. In summary of my reading and experiences this needle is what should come from the factory. So from a stock '13 KLR my final install ended up : 1. Stock jet of 145 as anything lower was WAY too lean. 2. Clip on #3. 3. 2 turns on low speed jet. 4. Drilled the slide. 5. Unifilter. 6. Removed intake neck. All of these make the bike feel much more responsive, better throttle control, and a higher top speed. I actually lost about 8 MPG's, but expected that to be the case. I know theoretically... Still may see make a few adjustments to see if I can get some MPG's back without loss of power. Another benefit is that the stock exhaust no longer pops when decelerating, however it is louder now.

Best needle for the KLR
The bike became noticeably faster and got better fuel economy.

The best needle that can be used in a KLR, with great initial setting and instructions.
First: hats off to Schnitz customer service! Fast shipping and status updates. Finally! I have read about this needle for some time. Just rebuilt the carb on my KLR. I had previously been using a DJ needle (and jet). Never was happy with it. After going back to stock jetting, this needle is perfect. Smooth power, and yes now wheelie capable. I ended up with a 142.5 Jet, with the clip on position 3, 2.5 turns pilot (Free flowing exhaust, air box mods, K&N filter).

Good power increase.
Very good instructions with high altitude jetting details. Works great, especially since I live at 6,000 ft.

What a difference in performance
Excellent product, well worth the money. More power (can now do wheelies with a KLR 650!), faster response and much more smoother operation than before. Should have done this mod 6 years ago when I first got my bike.

Service at its best
Once again Schnitz Racing has impressed me with their outstanding service. Prompt shipping, tracking info and quick delivery. Couldn't ask for better service. Also, consulted with Ryan on a couple of questions and he provided knowledgeable answers. Thanks again.
