Schnitz Racing offers ECU Reflashing for the Kawasaki ZX-14 that is restricted in the following ways:
- Limited Hard Acceleration by Restricting Secondary Throttle Blade Opening
- Reduced Peak Power Output by Limited Ignition Timing and/or RPM
- Top Speed Limit or High Gear RPM Limits
These restrictions are used to control power output to allow easier control of the motorcycle for street conditions. However, these will limit the full potential of engine for racing use. Allow us to eliminate these restrictions and allow your engine to run the way it should.
Kawasaki ZX14R (16-24) Reflash Features:
- Increased Rev Limiter to 11,500 RPM (+500rpm from stock)
- Top Speed Limiter Removed
- Secondary Fly's will open more aggressively to give noticeable power gains below 5,000 RPM
- Safety Mode Completely Disabled to Prevent Power Loss Under Hard Acceleration (This does not affect your select mode switch)
- Stock O2 Sensor FI Disabled
- Radiator Fans Set to come on at 90*C (194*F)
- Optional: Adjust fuel tables to match the exhaust system ($125 additional charge)
What is ECU Reflashing? ECU stands for "Engine Control Unit." It is the computer that takes information from the various sensors on the engine like crankshaft RPM, manifold pressure and throttle position to determine how much fuel to deliver through the fuel injectors and when to fire the ignition coils.
The computer "chip" that is the heart of the ECU is usually an EEPROM -- an Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory chip. The Read Only part of that means the chip retains its programming without periodic electronic refreshing; loss of electrical power doesn't lead to the chip losing its programming (It's like the CMOS BIOS of a computer).
"Flashing" the chip involves electronically erasing the read only program and replacing it with new, updated information (the engine control 'map').
How does your service differ from others – Our reflashing services remove restrictions that the OEM's have programmed to meet government regulations and that reduce throttle response and power output for novice riders. You are not purchasing a “lifetime” flashing subscription for services you won’t use. Our a la carte style checkout system allows you to purchase only the options you need. While we do offer fuel adjustments to match aftermarkets exhaust systems, we believe that you should have control over fuel adjustments with units such as Power Commanders that can be adjusted to match your specific needs.

There's a noticeable difference in the sensitivity of the throttle It doesn't just shut off when you let off the throttle you can idle it down in a controlled manner which is a big improvement for writing it's also more linear. The bike is really fast so it's hard to tell if it's much faster than before and I certainly didn't test the top speed limit and probably never will. The service was very fast and efficient.

Great Results
So I sent my ecu for my 2022 zx14r to schnitz to be flashed. I got it back in exactly 7 days. I only used the FedEx two day shipping option which included a weekend so it took an extra day or two. I followed the re-install instructions exactly, unplug O2 sensor, cycle the ignition twice and then startup. The fans came on like they should. Upon the first ride I can definitely feel the difference. It runs smooth. With the top speed limiter removed, I'm just going to wait on a chance to test that. Not a lot of room to gallop out where I live. Overall, I'm satisfied and hopefully no problems arise. I recommend at least the flashing service.

Flash for 2021 ZX14R
I can not say enough about how awesome my bike runs! Getting the ECU flash for my 2021 ZX14R with my full Yoshimura exhaust woke the bike up. Runs great! Also, the service that was provided to me when I called and emailed them questions about the ECU flash was on point! Very nice people to deal with and quick turnaround time! Definitely recommend Schnitz for ECU flash and other items needed.

Insane
Rode the bike yesterday after I got home until 1am. It now does no clutch power wheelies as low as 15mph and I have to shift so fast from one gear to the next it makes me think about getting an air shifter. This bike is insane now. Amazing job.

Schnitz is awesome!!!! They unleashed the beast on my zx14r. I can’t say enough good things about all of them did a same day turnaround for this Texas Boy. I called and talked to them and they are all so nice. Great group of people!! I would recommend them to everyone. Piec of cake I called talked to them before I did it to make sure it was simple for a novice to do and they told me what I should do and it was a snap.

Amazing
I had a 2015 zx14r with brocks ct, guhl ecu, and PC5 with brocks map for fueling. Now I have a 2020 with brocks predator and schnitz flash with fueling in the ECU. Hands down the schnitz wins. For 1 absolutely no backfire on decel. Smooth , aggressive , and pulls strong. This flash is legit and saved me a ton. 100% happy.

Had mine flashed with fueling for brocks predator. Blocked the pair valve, reinstalled ECU and its perfection. Smooth with no decel popping whatsoever. Great tune.
