Schnitz Racing offers ECU Reflashing for the Kawasaki ZX-14 that is restricted in the following ways:
- Limited Hard Acceleration by Restricting Secondary Throttle Blade Opening
- Reduced Peak Power Output by Limited Ignition Timing and/or RPM
- Top Speed Limit or High Gear RPM Limits
These restrictions are used to control power output to allow easier control of the motorcycle for street conditions. However, these will limit the full potential of engine for racing use. Allow us to eliminate these restrictions and allow your engine to run the way it should.
Kawasaki ZX14 (06-11) Reflash Features:
- Increased Rev Limiter to 11,500RPM (+500rpm from stock)
- Top Speed Limiter Removed
- Gear Based Fuel Trims Removed from Gears 1-3
- Secondary Throttle Blades Open More Aggressively And Stay Open
- Radiator Fans Set to come on at 90*C (194*F)
- Optional: Adjust the Fuel Tables in the ECU to match your Exhaust System (Additional $125)
What is ECU Reflashing? ECU stands for "Engine Control Unit." It is the computer that takes information from the various sensors on the engine like crankshaft RPM, manifold pressure and throttle position to determine how much fuel to deliver through the fuel injectors and when to fire the ignition coils. The computer "chip" that is the heart of the ECU is usually an EEPROM -- an Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory chip. The Read Only part of that means the chip retains its programming without periodic electronic refreshing; loss of electrical power doesn't lead to the chip losing its programming (It's like the CMOS BIOS of a computer). "Flashing" the chip involves electronically erasing the read only program and replacing it with new, updated information (the engine control 'map').
How can you offer this at such a low price? We have been tuning sport bikes for 15 years. Our business is offering performance products for motorcycles. If an ECU is programmed to limit power output of that engine, then our products performance will not meet your expectations. We want to ensure you get all you can out of your purchase from us. Pulling the ECU data is no longer a “black science” limited to just a handful of computer wizards that have an exclusive on this technology and expect you to pay 3 or 4 times our price. We’ve been doing this since 2006 on Suzuki sportbikes that were limited. Now we have expanded to various other models.
How does your service differ from others – Our reflashing services remove restrictions that the OEM's have programmed to meet government regulations and that reduce throttle response and power output for novice riders. You are not purchasing a “lifetime” flashing subscription for services you won’t use. Our a la carte style checkout system allows you to purchase only the options you need. While we do offer fuel adjustments to match aftermarkets exhaust systems, we believe that you should have control over fuel adjustments with units such as Power Commanders that can be adjusted to match your specific needs.

Best bang for your buck!!!
By far the best mod I have done to my bike performance wise. I could tell an immediate difference in the way the bike handled. Some mods you need a dyno to see your gains. This one you can feel it when you ride. I know have a smile when I ride my 14. Thanks Schnitz for providing a great service at a reasonable price.

As I have been searching the inner Web for someone to flash my ecu, I had scored some info from a friend that he only uses Schnitz Racing for all his needs so I gave it a shot and found that for the price they had go to the next level and programed my ecu to it best set up. They are #1 in my book and they will have all my business in the future.

ZX-14 Reflash
I'm very happy with the Schnitz reflash on my bike. The throttle response is much more immediate in the lower half of the rev range. The change was very noticeable from the first ride after installing the reflashed unit. It now requires a more disciplined throttle hand around town but it feels like the monster motorcycle that the ZX-14 is supposed to be.

Excellent bang for the buck! There was only a 2 day turnaround on shipping, so I was back riding in no time. I'm very happy with my decision to use Schnitz over the more expensive options. 1-3 gear feels like a new bike and the 12k rev limiter(PC5) help me pull 175 on the dyno the day after I received my ECU. With that said I out did my friends '11 Busa on the dyno(same mod) and he has 14k less than my 32k miles! VERY HAPPY!

I was very pleased with my reflashed ecu for my 2007 ZX14, the bike feels smoother and faster than before a noticeable improvement.

Amazing performance
Shipped my ECU out on Monday and had it back by Friday. The increase in performance is amazing. Can't beat the performance for the price. With the PCIII and this flash my 08 ZX14 rev limiter is now at 12K RPM. Definitely recommend this upgrade for your ZX14.

Second to none!
After being recommended by my good buddy one bike night I decided to give it a go. Let me just say he wasn't blowing smoke! My 07 ZX14 feels like a totally different bike! The turn around was excellent! Like my buddy Matt said you have our business!
