What is the best advice for someone going down the track for the very first time?

For anyone heading to the drag strip for the first time, the key is to embrace the experience and prioritize enjoyment. The initial visit can be nerve-wracking, and a bit of nervousness is entirely normal. Take the time to observe others making passes, familiarize yourself with the track, understand the significance of each marker, and grasp the functioning of staging bulbs and exit points after the finish line.

Safety is paramount, so ensure you have the proper gear, including a full leather suit, helmet, gloves, and boots. Having a supportive buddy alongside can enhance your comfort level. Consider having them film your passes for later analysis, providing valuable insights for improvement.

When on the track, don't stress about achieving a perfect reaction time initially. Focus on making smooth passes from point A to B. If something feels off, trust your instincts and ease off the throttle. Remember, there's no need for embarrassment—everyone starts somewhere. Avoid comparing yourself to seasoned racers; instead, relish the learning process and the thrill of your first drag strip adventure
