Heavy duty gaskets are coated on both sides with a rubber like material. Normally can be reused many times. Same material as our clutch cover gaskets for drag bikes.

Opened cover several times, same gasket, never leaked
I gave one of these a try when I put in a Rekluse auto clutch. I ended up opening it up a few times to try some adjustments (and once because I had knocked a shifter spring out of place). I reused the same gasket each time and it never leaked when I put it back.

Very thin gasket, low quality compared to OEM
Recently replaced a clutch on my klr650. Everything I received was of great quality with the exception of this side cover gasket. Poor material quality. Bought another OEM gasket and compared the two. The Kawasaki gasket was at a much softer material and probably twice as thick
