The Kawasaki ZX14 is a great performance engine. Plenty of torque and horsepower to get you moving in a hurry. But like all performance engines, it needs proper oil pressure to keep it happy. Schnitz Racing has put together a complete oil pump system upgrade kit that increases oil volume and pressure. Spun bearings and a thing of the past with a 20% increase in oil pressure and the necessary components needed to keep the oil where it needs to be.
The High Volume Oil Pump Gear is a direct bolt in replacement for the OEM oil pump gear. This gear causes the pump to turn at faster speeds which increases oil volume and thus pressure at a lower RPM.
The gear on the clutch basket does not have to be changed. Initial testing revealed the following improvements on the test bike: 3000RPM, 32psi with stock gear. 52psi with high volume gear. 6000RPM, 72psi stock high volume gear. A must have for all ZX14's that are subject to high performance type riding.
The stock gear will need to be pressed off the oil pump shaft and replaced with this new gear. It is normal for there to be a slight whine noise coming from the water pump area until this gear "seats" in.
The High Pressure Relief Valve allows oil pressure to keep climbing up to 110psi (40psi higher than stock) to ensure plenty of oil flow to key components such as rod bearings and cam buckets.
The Billet Oil Pump Cover replaces the stock cast aluminum unit that flexes and loses it seal with high pressure.
